Overshoot is a magazine. I designed a featured article spread for it. I used my photography and had to choose a specific existing article to feature in my spreads. For the article I chose, I decided to approach my layout with photography.
For my spreads, I combined photographic elements with type. I want it to feel like the reader is in a captivating world of their own while reading. The article focuses on creating the right amount of space for readers to have a better experience with reading content on the web and how web designers can do much better by “carving out space” for their readers. The hand peeling back the paper on the letter d represents the web designer, and the little person reading inside is symbolic of their readers.
I played with the photographic elements to be a part of the pull quotes to catch the reader’s eye.
